Edwin Gilkes admits his coerced trial testimony was a lie

Edwin GilkesIn the years since Ivan’s trial, Gilkes has admitted consistently and repeatedly that his trial testimony against Ivan was fabricated. Gilkes explains that Commonwealth’s Attorney Garst and Investigator Whitfield threatened him that if he did not agree to say that Ivan was responsible for Stephanie Sipe’s murder, Gilkes himself would end up on death row. They told him exactly what they wanted him to say. In return, he got a sentence of 15 years in prison for his role in Stephanie’s murder.
