ChildProtect© mobile application is proposal application to restrict or control the user to access mobile phone content. This will be design for parent to help them to protect and restrict their children to access their mobile phone content. This will be possible by including a feature of facial recognition to secure a mobile phone.

 

The purpose of this mobile application is to ease the security issues in regards of mobile phone contents. The demand for parental control that restrict content increased over the decades due to improving availability of technology. Restricting especially helps in cases when children are exposed to inappropriate content by accident. Similar with Mobicip, which is a cloud-based Internet filter and parental control service that works with mobile internet devices. Parents can customize the filter to set up whitelist and blacklists, block categories of websites and manage users and devices on the device and let parents monitor activity on the device and block websites. However, ChildProtect© works on the security of mobile phone content to restrict children.

 

The only possible risk involved in this proposed application is compatibility of the software when installing this application. ChildProtect© will only be compatible with devices that has front face camera as this will be use as face identification.

This is a process of understanding the technical and operational environment in which a proposed application will work. It also involves determining the system requirements. 

Mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets are rapidly evolving and maturing as a platform that serves the computational and communication needs of people in their everyday lives. A massive number of smart phones have embedded sensors which can sense the user’s environment. For example, almost all smart phones come with built in accelerometers, GPS, light sensors, microphones, proximity sensors, cameras, compasses, gyroscopes, etc.

The idea behind this mobile app derives from real life experience and needs that we encounter daily. The internet can be a fantastic educational tool, but it can also be a dangerous place for kids. Parental control software has its uses through, and can help to make parents lives much easier, particularly once your kids are a little older and want more independence. If your children are a little older and more responsible, you can pick and choose which options to monitor and give them a little privacy.

Most parental control software is designed for Windows, but ChildProtect© will also be available for Mac, Android and iOS.

ChildProtect© uses advanced face biometrics technologies that makes it easy to lock the apps and change the settings on your phone, tablet or PC that you want to keep private or allow restricted access. This software ensures that children will only have access to exactly what parents consider it`s appropriate for their kids. Your face is the biometric key that gives the phone full functionality. When the mobile app detects a face that it`s not yours the phone it will automatically block or give restricted access to selected settings and apps. For parent’s peace of mind ChildProtect© can be installed on both children and parent’s devices. ChildProtect© will be password protected and will require password to uninstall. Once installed and setup the app will run in background and parents can choose whether to display an app icon on the screen.

According to techradar.com the best parental control apps for 2017 are ranked as follow: Qustodio; OpenDns FamilyShield, Kidlogger, Spyrix Free Keylogger and Zoodles. All this apps are offering parental control by spying on your kids. For example: Kidlogger: This parental control software not only tracks what your children type and which websites they visit, it also keeps a record of which programs they use and any screenshots they take including silent monitoring of WhatsApp conversations and the ability to listen to Skype calls. Spyrix Free Keylogger: Spyrix Free Keylogger enables you to see what your children have been up to. The free version of Spyrix is really a monitoring program, it doesn’t stop the kids getting up to no good, but it does let you see exactly what they’ve done.

Spying on your kids might be awkward for you and for your kids, that’s why ChildProtect©  totally discourages this activity by offering the user the possibility to handpick the right content for kids to access.

Banners or display ads

Usually appeared in different sizes and stretch at the top or bottom part of the screen. They are small and less obtrusive, so users can freely interact with the app. Besides, the app will be target tailored users based on demographics and past behaviours and previous web search.

Interstitial ad

These are interactive ads displayed across the entire screen, often during key moments during navigation, such as launching the app, or in between games. User action is required, either to close the ad or tapping on a call-to-action to view the desired content.

Collecting and selling personal data remains one of the effective approaches to turn a profit. ChildProtect will be a freemium app but we will sell the databases to third parties if the user agrees with our T&C. The information may contain user’s email address, social media accounts, and personal preferences.

Getting App Sponsors

Finding a sponsor is a lucrative monetization model. Having support from a prestigious name will help us to elevate the reputation of our brand.

According to www.techchrunch.com, more that 90% of apps on the market now are free. Revenues generated from apps that charge for download are expected to go down in incoming years. In fact, statistics show that the amount of paid app downloads decreased greatly in 2016 compared to previous years.

A Sweet Pricing www.sweetpricing.com, report revealed: only 5% of most successful apps are using subscriptions, making it one of the least used monetization models among developers.

As stated by www.statista.com as of April 2017, the number of apps available in the leading app stores was recorded for comparison. As of that month, customers could pick from Google Play’s 2.8 million available apps, a figure which made it the world’s leading app store. Apple’s App Store was ranked second with slightly fewer, yet still impressive, 2.2 million apps.

Gartner Research group unrevealed a report, according to which customers will spend 24% more on in-app purchases than on paid-for apps, indicating that people are likely to generate transactions within the app and pay for in-app features, once they are convinced that the app can bring real value.

Note: In August and September 2015, Gartner surveyed more than 3,000 consumers in the U.S., the U.K. and China to understand more about attitudes toward mobile apps.

Overall, the survey conducted in China, the U.S. and the U.K. showed that spending for three months period on paid apps amounted $7.40 and $9.20 to buy in-app features. That is more, Gartner said that app users between 18 and 34 years enjoyed more flexible engagement with in-app transactions, that older customers, preferring to pay for an application to own and use.

In-Mobi www.inmobi.com report shows about 20% of surveyed users indicate that they usually click on ads generated by mobile apps, but almost two-thirds said they never click on in-app commercial. Still, 63% of developers choose advertising to monetize their apps, making this model the major revenue-earner in 2017.

Being a relative newcomer in the word of the mobile apps, Amazon  Underground offers its users to access an unlimited number of solutions that contains premium features for free. Amazon Underground pays application developers 2 cents per minute of use, per every single user. Giving the fact that our app ChildProtect will run in background, this way of monetization will be the main source of revenue for the app.

Amazon Underground is an independent app store, with its own mobile app that must be used for getting access into the store. To use this innovative strategy, app publishers are not allowed to implement ad or in-app purchases inside their apps.
